B & B “Broccoli and Benefits”

A crunchy, nutrient-dense vegetable that, believe it or not, has as much protein than red meat, per calorie. It is very artery-friendly due to it having no Cholesterol and Saturated Fat levels, and is an excellent source of several B vitamins, such as Thiamin, Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid, and B6. Calcium and Magnesium are also key nutrients that broccoli contains which are great for muscle and tendon strength, as well as lowering stress levels in the body.

Some other important Vitamins that broccoli contains are Vitamin A, which is great for healthy skin, hair and eyes, Vitamin C, which is great for boosting our immune systems as well as eliminating harmful bacteria, and lastly, Vitamin K, which helps cleanse the blood, as well as make sure that it clots normally. Broccoli is such a satisfying and delicious raw food and with all the nutrients it contains, it would be a mistake to pass these little trees up.

Interesting observation….. when you cut broccoli into it’s individual florets they all have a tree like structure. Even if you seperate the little larger florets into tinier ones they still have a tree like structure. This vegetable certainly could be called a tree of life.
