3 Snacks Perfect for Hiking and Biking!

It can be done! Snacking while out on the trail does not have to be full of processed candy bars and energy gels full of artificial ingredients. If you take the time to prepare you can have some really great snacks packed with all natural ingredients and energy!


  • Peanut, Date and Almont protein balls: Combine peanuts, Dates, Almonds and a touch of coconut oil in a vitamix blender and process until you get a chunky texture. Form bite sized balls and wrap individually in saran wrap to keep them together.

  • Trail Mix: Almonds, Cashews, Raisins, Coconut pieces and peanuts. That’s it! Bring a zip lock bag with you full of your favorite mix of nuts and dried berries. Great for a quick handful of nutrients when taking a break.

  • Datorade: Super simple and a great source of carbohydrates and hydration during exercise. Just blend 6-10 pitted dates in the correct amount of water to fill your camelbak or water bottle and blend until completely mixed up. It’s important to hydrate and this drink will give you some of those extra calories required while on the trail.
